I’ve been involved with computers in one way or another for quite a long time, probably about 25 years, ever since we turned on our first PC in fact. In those days, Windows was very new so much of my early knowledge was gained through learning DOS.

Since those early days I’ve lost count of the courses I have taken, covering website design, image manipulation,writing courses,  Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Video Editing, DVD production, way too many to go into here, even to this day, my leisure reading is quite likely to be a computer /software/ course manual of some description. I think ‘Nerd’ is probably a pretty good description of me and looking back on photos of myself over the years, I usually seem to have a camera or video camera in my hands.

From 2001 to 2005, I spent 4 years producing and editing videos and photos of the sports events at ACS Cobham, it was a HUGE project as each semester I produced the presentation that was shown on big screens on awards nights. I then developed DVDs from the production that was sold to parents in order to add to the funding for support groups for the student athletes. I loved every minute of this although it certainly took up a huge portion of my life.

Moving on from this, I continued with website development firstly using Dreamweaver, but then moving on to my website design software/content management system of choice, WordPress. I currently own and run over 100 WordPress sites on various topics, here are some examples :

Through meeting with people and discussing their business IT requirements, I realised that what I take as second nature and is as easy as breathing to me is a desirable asset to businesses and I’m now offering WordPress Training, with an emphasis on self sufficiency for the website owner, as no-one wants to pay a website designer every time they require the smallest of changes to their site.

My main focus however, is to offer Facebook Business Page design with WordPress integration to encourage business owners to take advantage of the HUGE explosion in popularity of Facebook for Business.

We are just at the beginning of the rise of Facebook pages for businesses and with the very recent changes to the structure of the business side of Facebook we are now able to incorporate a wordpress website WITHIN Facebook itself, the possibilities for this are LIMITLESS!

It seems that everywhere you look, you will now see addresses such as : facebook.com/nike or facebook.com/Pringles or facebook.com/Red Bull or facebook.com/Adidas or, how about  this one http://www.facebook.com/Pringles with over 14 MILLION viewers?   ALL the big businesses are on Facebook and the savvy small business owner is catching on fast!!
